Yep. It’s Friday … again. Time for another addition of HJ’s Weekly History Wrap-Up.
Ronald H. Bailey over at HistoryNet brings us a truly amazing piece on the Marquis de Lafayette’s return to the States in 1824. This is a must read for all Lafayette groupies (HJ included. Blush! Blush!) and Revolutionary buffs.
Another American hero was laid to rest this week. The remains of Army Sgt. Wallace Slight, a Korean War soldier, were identified and brought home. Services were held in Van Meter, Iowa on December 3.
Craig Swain at To the Sound of the Guns offered a post on the difficulties in preserving historical artillery pieces, especially those remaining on battlefields.
And last, but certainly not least, a new video surfaced this week of Army soldier, Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl is believed to still be held by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Our prayers are with him and his family.
Have a great weekend. See you next week. Ciao.
