Well, it was high school sectional basketball finals weekend here in Indiana. Honestly, a very big deal. Hope your team did well.
But now, it’s Monday, and time for the 90th Infantry Division Picture of the Week. How about a snapshot from Bruville, France?
EXTRAORDINAIRE !!!!
Jean-Bernard Normand

I warmly thank you for this wonderful gift!
Best regards from France!”
Bonjour Jean-Bernard,
Cordialement,
Mike

Hello Jean-Bernard,
So you’re telling me that you recognize the French civilian, and his name is Augustine Teitienne? How exciting! What was Augustine’s story during World War II? And Bruville?
I’ll check my records for more on Bruville.
Best Regards,
Mike
Hello Mike!
Augustin Tétienne was my grand-father. I used to go to this small village Bruville when I was a child in order to help my father to grow the vegetables in a small field behind Augustin’s house, not far from the place where the photograph was taken (actually on the left, behind the Caporal).
During WW II – and even after – this field allowed Augustin’s family to eat some fresh vegetables, which was really valuable to complement the day to day ration…
Bravo for this quick trip to the past…
Vincent
Hi Vincent,
Wonderful to hear from you. Had your family seen this picture before?
Mike
