Weekly History Wrap-Up: 03/11/11.

It’s Friday again.  Being a Hoosier and a huger college basketball fan (Boiler Up!), it might just be my favorite time of the year.  And time for the Weekly History Wrap-Up.

Looks like Libya has opened up into a full-blown civil war.  How about a minute-by-minute account.

I really … really love old cemeteries.  The Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church in Union County, New Jersey aptly honors those who participated in the Revolutionary War.

The remains of a missing B-25 crew from World War II were identified and returned to the States for burial in Arlington National Cemetery this week.

I love it when students get together with vets to listen to their stories.  Another great example in Martinez, California.

Tom Engelhardt takes an interesting looking at our most recent Secretaries of Defense, war and the future, in his War In Context.

You gotta love ugly airplanes.  Thanks Historynet!

I just learned that the last surviving great grandson of Civil War general, Ulysses S. Grant, has passed away.

And we’ve got to end a Friday with Dr. Beachcombing and his look at Transvestite Knights from the Thirteenth Century.

Til Monday.  Here’s hoping I don’t OD on college basketball.  As always, have a historical weekend.  History Junkie out!
