We finish up our D-Day themed week with this Friday’s Weekly History Wrap-Up.

World War II vet, John Russell, finally met the family of the German fisherman who saved him after his bomber crashed in the Baltic Sea.

The Duluth Timber Company won the bid to recover the timbers from Boeing’s historic Plant 2, in Seattle.  Plant 2 produced some 7,000 B-17 bombers during World War II.

World War II ace, John Alison, has passed away at age 98.

Love a good World War II murder mystery?  The extremely cold case of Felix Gulje in Leiden, Holland has been solved.

Linda Dudik has got it right in San Marcos, California.  Like EVERYTOWN, USA, she’s saving World War II history, one vet at a time.

Members of the Natick, Massachusetts community paid tribute to their 11 sons lost in the Vietnam War as the Moving Vietnam Wall Memorial rolled into town.

The remains of Air Force Captain Darrell Spinler have been positively identified and will be returned to the States for proper burial.  Spinler’s A-1E Skyraider was lost of Laos during the Vietnam War.
