Friday again, and time for what’s “new” in the world of “old,” with the Weekly History Wrap Up.
Kentucky Marine, Dakota Meyer, received the Medal of Honor this week in Washington.
World War II bomber pilot, and the son of Mexican immigrants, Roberto Ruiz, flew 35 missions of Europe.
World War II Lady Marines reunite after 67 years.
Pratt & Whitney has donated $1 million to the National World War II Museum, and also a World War II-era aircraft engine, a Twin Wasp R-1830- 90D.
Knud Dyby, who helped save literally thousands of Danish Jews during the Holocaust, died at age 96 in Novato, California.
“War Prizes: The Cultural Legacy of Slavery and the Civil War” is on exhibit at the Amistad Center for Art & Culture in Hartford, Connecticut.
Antiwar activist, Carl Oglesby, who led opposition to the Vietnam War, died this week at age 76.
And lastly, Revolutionary War hero, and signer of the Constitution, William Few, was honored this week in Georgia.
