Weekly History Wrap-Up: 02/04/11.

Friday again, and time for the Weekly History Wrap-Up.

How about a comprehensive look at this week’s upheaval in Egypt?  Are we going to see a domino effect across North Africa and the Middle East?

Jeff Jacoby makes a convincing argument for using mercenaries to help stabilize Somalia.

How about a Tribute to our American Heroes, and to the women who have served our country so valiantly.

When I think of pontoon bridges, visions of World War II engineering outfits slamming a makeshift crossing together post haste to span a flooded Moselle or Saar River comes to mind.  But the Civil War?  You bet!

And lastly, a long time in coming, Livingston County, Michigan World War II Marine, Woody Brown, recently received his Purple Heart with Gold Star, denoting his third time being wounded in battle.

Have a historical weekend!
