I’ve got a friend who always seems to come across obscure war-related material. And I’ll be the first to admit, “I Love The Stuff!” He recently brought me a copy of an original U.S. Navy Landing Party Manual – 1950. This thing is awesome! It covers absolutely everything, from marching to ceremonies to equipment to strategy, all in 602 pages.
I thought I might share a tidbit here and there. On page 359, in the Hand-To-Hand Combat section, we find the Crotch Come-Along. Enjoy…
1. Grasp the club in the center with the right hand.
2. Slip the club between the opponent’s legs from the rear and lift up hard so that the club between the opponent’s legs is horizontal and is binding the front of his thighs. At the same time grab the scruff of his collar or his left arm.
3. Walk the opponent away be keeping the club raised high. He will be off balance and unable to run or maneuver.
