Letters From War Wednesday: World War II – Raymond Eiseman.

This edition of Letters From War Wednesday features a short note from PFC. Raymond Eiseman, who wrote home while on maneuvers out West.

“We are now out in the desert, in Arizona,” Eiseman wrote in September 1943, while serving with the 79th Signal Company. “Have been here several days and am ready to leave. I didn’t know we had such a place in the U.S.A. All we see is sand and mountains. The closest town is 27 miles and it is only a small one.

“My home is … now wherever the army sends me. … Give my best regards to everyone back home and do take care of yourself.”
