Here we go! Our man, Tristan, on location in France, has again offered us the opportunity to view a World War II setting, through today’s lens.
On April 4, just last week, our 90th Infantry Division Picture of the Week featured a shot from Chambois, France, during the Battle for Falaise Gap.
Minus the soldiers and half-track, seems little has changed in almost 67 years. Tristan was kind enough to clarify that the Trident Insignia on the rear door of the half track was that of the 2nd Panzer Division, which was almost completely wiped out at the Falaise Gap. Also, the archway led to a courtyard, where an American aid station was set up.
Thanks again, Tristan!
